Squash

With squash now a Commonwealth sport, this is the perfect time to come and be part of this energetic game. Squash is both an intense workout, and a mental test of reaction and hand/eye coordination.

There are club nights every Monday and Thursday evening, and club competitions are run throughout the year. Look out for these on the squash noticeboard in the club, and on the website.

At the club, we have 2 squash courts, on which both squash and racketball are played - both available from Monday-Sunday, 9 am - 10 pm.

We have recently played friendly squash matches with other clubs in the central area, and hope to do so again in coming season.

Coaching has been provided by the club, which has been well attended by junior members. The club are presently in the process of acquiring a new squash coach, so watch this space for future coaching opportunities.

If you are interested in trying out squash for the first time, you already play, or you are a former player who wishes to come back to the game you formerly enjoyed, please contact Donald Rodger (Squash/Racketball convenor at info@sltasc.co.uk.

Racketball

Racketball is seeing its popularity grow, being a fun and easy game to get into for players of all ages and abilities. Racketball is played on a standard squash court and uses a larger, bouncier ball and a racket with a larger head, making the game easier to play.

We have 2 squash courts on which racketball is played - both available from Monday-Sunday, 9 am to 10 pm.

Club nights are every Monday and Thursday evening, when both squash and racketball are played.

Club competitions run throughout the year and we are proud to compete annually for "The Billy Monteith Trophy", which is named in recognition and honour of Billy's 33 years playing and supporting the club.

If you are interested in trying out racketball for the first time, already play, or are a former player who wishes to come back to the game you formerly enjoyed, please contact Donald Rodger (Squash/Racketball Convenor) on info@sltasc.co.uk.
